The stress factor
What causes stress?
The answer to this is that anything can cause stress but the most common factors in this day and age are work, family, finances and love.
Work – Do you have a controlling, lazy or abusive boss? Are you being bullied at work (by a boss or colleague)? Do you hate your job? Are you bored in your job? Do you feel unfulfilled in your work? Do you face a horrible journey to and from work every day?
Family – Do you have young children or teenagers? Do you have elderly or sick parents to care for? Are you caring for a family member? Is there abuse of any kind in your household? Do you use alcohol or other drugs to ‘forget’ or take your mind off things? Are you suffering with any weight problems?
Finances – Are you always struggling to pay your bills? Do you have debts? Are you living in fear of losing your house due to non-payment of mortgage or rent?
Love – Do you have problems in your relationship? Is your relationship abusive? Do you live in fear of losing your partner? Are you suffering with sexual dysfunction of any kind?
If your answer to one or more of these questions is yes then the chances are that you are living with chronic (long term) stress.
